Ellen Mackenbach-Lakeman

 

Chief Executive Officer

 

 

Ellen joined Dümmen Orange as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) in June 2020 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in May 2025. She leads the company’s strategic agenda to strengthen its position as a global leader in floriculture, delivering innovative products and services that create sustainable value for our customers.

 

Before joining Dümmen Orange, Ellen held various global leadership roles across the chemical and distribution industries.

 

She studied Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam and holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from TIAS Business School, a diploma in Organizational Leadership from Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), and a diploma in HR from the Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California).

 

Ellen is married and has two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and can often be found in the gym or tending to her garden.

 

 

Carola de Bie

 

Chief Financial Officer

 

 

Carola joined Dümmen Orange as Head of Group Control in 2019, where she further professionalized the finance team. In 2024, Carola joined the Executive Committee as CFO, and in that role, she is responsible for Finance, Treasury, IT, and Tax.

 

Before joining Dümmen Orange, Carola gained years of experience as an auditor of large international companies at KPMG and subsequently as Group Controller at Royal IHC.

 

Carola holds a master's and postgraduate master's degree in Accountancy from Nyenrode Business University (Certified Public Accountant).

 

Carola is married and has two children. Outside of working hours, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

 

Tosca Ferber

Chief Technology Officer

 

Tosca joined Dümmen Orange in 2016 as Research Director, where she established the global Research team. In 2023, she became responsible for the global commercial portfolio as Director Global Product Management. In 2024, Tosca joined the Executive Committee as Managing Director R&D. In her current role, Tosca is responsible for all breeding programs and supporting operational and research activities.

Before joining Dümmen Orange, Tosca gained experience in the vegetable breeding industry – first as geneticist and later as leader of multidisciplinary teams.

Tosca obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Groningen, where she focused on Evolutionary Genetics.

 

Tosca lives with her partner and their blended family of four children. She enjoys running – with or without the dog -, game-night with the family and warm evenings in the garden.

 

Johan van ’t Hag

Chief Operating Officer
Global Cut Flowers & EMEA

 

Johan joined Dümmen Orange’s ExCo in 2020. Initially, his responsibilities spanned Strategy and M&A, including bringing ‘strategy into action.’ During the following years, he also became responsible for Global Product Management and the global business unit Cut Flowers. 

Before joining Dümmen Orange, Johan worked in various international leadership roles. At Unilever, he held several senior (finance) management roles in different countries. He gained strategy consultancy experience at Bain & Company and worked as CFO in scale-up healthcare companies.

Johan holds a Master’s degree in Economics & Business Economics (Finance) from the University of Groningen and a post-Master’s degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Register Controller).

Johan is married and has three children. Outside work, he likes spending time with his family and friends. Sports, specifically race biking, is one of his passions. Next to that, he likes reading and music (piano).

 

Frank Magnusson

 

Chief Operating Officer

North & Central America

 

 

Frank has been with Dümmen Orange as a senior member of the North American region since 2012. With over two decades of industry experience, Frank has extensive expertise across Sales, Operations and Finance functions. During his Dümmen Orange tenure, Frank has led mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and integrations of more than a dozen companies including Ecke Ranch, Fides, and Dümmen USA, Inc. into what has become Dümmen Orange. Prior to his role as COO North America, he was vice president of Finance.

 

Frank earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Stockholm University, Sweden. He is married and has two children. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, reading and music.
